Hi! I wanted to give you an update on changes to our main navigation menu. After these changes, you will see this new main navigation menu.
You will see campaigns & events as normal and the dashboard as well. But now, you will see an entry called "Universals". This used to be called forms, but while on-boarding new clients, it was a source of confusion because they were thinking are these the events and are these the forms for those events or are these the campaigns and are these the forms for the campaigns? Really these are just independent universal forms you can use for any purpose. So, we went ahead and renamed the menu item "Universals".
The next change you'll see is instead of an Entities menu item, you will see "Constituents". That is essentially what entities are -- constituents. They are the individuals that are making a gift or registering for an event so we went ahead and renamed them "Constituents" instead of entities.
There are also two additions. One addition is "Messages" which tracks all email broadcasts coming out of the system. If you set up a broadcast in an event to a particular segment of constituents, usually that was only visible on the event itself. This new screen gives you an account wide view of all the messaging that's going out. We chose to name it "Messages" as opposed to emails because in the future, we will be offering text messages as well.
The second addition is "Segments". These are groups of constituents you want to send an email broadcast to. These used to be only visible within each event or campaign or universal form (basically, wherever you created that segment). Now you get to see all the segments that exist within an account as long as you have appropriate permissions to see that segment or that email broadcast.
And the last update we did was reordering the gear icon area. Now, it is sorted first by Campaigns and then by Events and then by screens that work across the different form types. You do have to have certain permissions to see all of the menu items here but they have been hopefully better reorganized.
